The Role
This is a hands-on senior-level contract opportunity for an experienced BI Developer and Tableau Administrator to take ownership of enterprise reporting platforms in a hybrid environment based in Hartford, CT. You will serve as a key technical resource responsible for platform stability, data integrity, and the day-to-day health of cloud-based analytics environments. Working across development, test, and production, you will collaborate with architects, integration teams, and business stakeholders to ensure reporting services remain reliable, performant, and well-governed.
---
What You Will Do
• Administer and govern Tableau Cloud environments across all deployment tiers, managing sites, projects, user groups, permissions, and security configurations
• Monitor platform health continuously, including extract refresh cycles, scheduled jobs, and subscription workflows — escalating and resolving issues proactively
• Troubleshoot and resolve Tableau performance bottlenecks, connectivity failures, and reporting anomalies, providing responsive support to analysts and business users
• Oversee Azure SQL Database environments that underpin enterprise reporting, including query performance tuning, connectivity monitoring, and data refresh validation
• Investigate and resolve data quality issues, performing root-cause analysis across reporting pipelines and source system integrations
• Support data pipeline operations, including monitoring and troubleshooting workflows that load data from Salesforce and other source systems into Azure SQL
• Collaborate with integration and development teams during incident resolution, environment promotions, and deployment activities
• Partner with solution architects to establish and uphold best practices for data modeling, platform governance, and reporting design
• Contribute to architecture and design discussions, work estimation, and resource planning conversations
• Mentor junior team members, deliver technical guidance, and maintain thorough documentation across all SDLC phases
---
What We Are Looking For
• 5+ years administering Tableau Cloud platforms
• 7+ years working with Microsoft SQL Server environments
• 4–6 years writing and optimizing T-SQL / advanced SQL
• Deep familiarity with Salesforce objects, fields, relationships, and data model design
• Experience managing enterprise reporting and analytics platforms at scale
• Proven ability to monitor platform health, extract jobs, and scheduled processes
• Hands-on user access management: provisioning, deactivation, roles, profiles, and permission governance
• Strong SDLC documentation practices across all project phases
• Excellent communication skills — written, verbal, and cross-functional
The ideal candidate brings a well-rounded background in both BI platform administration and relational database management, with a track record of keeping enterprise analytics environments stable under real operational pressure. You are comfortable owning incidents end-to-end, from initial triage through root-cause resolution, and you know how to translate technical findings into clear guidance for non-technical stakeholders. Experience working within structured public sector or regulated enterprise environments is a strong advantage, as is a proactive, self-directed working style that does not require close supervision.

Nice to Have
• Experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) pipeline monitoring and troubleshooting
• Familiarity with MuleSoft Runtime Fabric (RTF) environments
• Hands-on exposure to MuleSoft integration patterns affecting reporting platforms
• Broader Microsoft Azure platform experience beyond SQL Database
• Working knowledge of SOQL for Salesforce data querying and troubleshooting
Candidates who bring experience across the Azure data ecosystem — particularly around pipeline orchestration and integration middleware — will be well-positioned to add immediate value in this role. Familiarity with MuleSoft environments is not required, but those who understand how integration layers interact with downstream reporting platforms will find the work especially engaging. SOQL experience is a practical plus for anyone supporting Salesforce-connected analytics workflows.
