THE ROLE
This is a senior-level contract opportunity for a mobile engineer who is equally at home writing polished native application code and wiring up intelligent AI-driven capabilities. You will be embedded on-site in Columbus, OH, working alongside solution architects, AI engineers, and client stakeholders to design, build, and ship agentic mobile experiences that go well beyond conventional app development. WHAT YOU WILL DO
• Architect and build high-quality native iOS and/or Android applications using modern frameworks, ensuring they are scalable, maintainable, and production-ready from day one.
• Embed Generative AI and LLM capabilities directly into mobile experiences — including conversational interfaces, intelligent recommendations, and agent-driven task automation — so that AI feels like a natural part of the user journey rather than a bolt-on feature.
• Connect mobile applications to REST APIs, microservices, and enterprise AI platforms such as OpenAI, Google Gemini, AWS Bedrock, and Azure AI, handling authentication, session management, and secure data flows end to end.
• Implement agentic workflows using relevant SDKs and orchestration frameworks, enabling mobile clients to interact dynamically with AI agents and back-end enterprise tooling.
• Collaborate closely with AI/ML engineers to consume model outputs, agent responses, and orchestration services within the mobile layer, translating complex AI behavior into smooth, reliable user experiences.
• Engage directly with client teams through technical workshops, architecture reviews, and solution demonstrations — rapidly absorbing business requirements and turning them into working prototypes that evolve toward production.
• Own application performance end to end: profile and optimize API latency, AI response handling, memory usage, and overall mobile reliability to meet enterprise-grade standards.
• Enforce mobile security best practices including OAuth 2.0, JWT, and OIDC authentication flows, alongside accessibility and privacy standards appropriate for regulated environments.
• Instrument applications with robust logging, observability, and analytics so that AI-powered features can be monitored, debugged, and continuously improved in production.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
• 6+ years of professional mobile development experience
• Advanced proficiency in Swift, SwiftUI, and/or UIKit for iOS
• Advanced proficiency in Kotlin and/or Jetpack Compose for Android
• Hands-on experience integrating Generative AI and LLMs into production applications
• Proven ability to design and implement agentic AI workflows in a mobile context
• Strong command of MVVM, Clean Architecture, and dependency injection patterns
• Experience securing applications with OAuth 2.0, JWT, and OIDC
• Solid REST API integration skills including async programming patterns
• Comfort working directly with client stakeholders in a delivery-focused capacity

NICE TO HAVE
• Experience with LangChain and/or LangGraph for agent orchestration
• Familiarity with the OpenAI Agent SDK
• Exposure to Google's Agent Development Kit (ADK)
• Background in financial services or healthcare mobile applications
• Prior consulting or professional services delivery experience
• Mobile analytics and observability tooling experience
Candidates who have worked with agentic orchestration frameworks such as LangChain or LangGraph will be able to contribute meaningfully from the first week, as these tools are central to how AI workflows are structured in this environment.
